How You Can Make a Difference

Your Water Footprint

You may be asking what your water footprint is. Well, it is very similar to your carbon footprint but with water. Your water footprint is the amount of water you use in a given period. By reducing your water footprint, you can contribute to preventing global water scarcity.

Calculate your water footprint here!

  1. Reduce Shower Time

Instead of taking baths take a shower and set a 5 minute timer.

2. Only fun full loads of laundry

Instead of washing patrial loads of laundry, wait until you are able to run a full load.

3. Fix leaky taps

Fixing leaky taps can reduce the amount of water lost. A lot of the time, limescale forms on the O-ring and causes material wear, making the faucet leaky. The most common solution is to replace the rubber O-ring.

4. Use a watering can

By using a watering can instead of a hose you are able to have more control over how much water you use.

5. Eat less meat

Animal products use a lot more water than produce and grains. By eating more produce and grain you can cut down your water footprint by a bunch.
